Virtual Nail Try-On: Privacy & Retention

The SIYOU Nails iOS app may offer an optional virtual nail try-on on supported iPhones. Try-on shows an approximate appearance preview; it does not measure your nails, recommend a size, predict fit, or reproduce the depth or material behavior of raised designs. Raised and 3D designs are shown as a flattened 2D preview.

How camera images are used

After you choose try-on and agree to the in-app notice, Apple Vision locates your hand and SIYOU Nail Vision locates your nail plates on your iPhone. The app uses those results to draw the selected design. Camera frames are not saved or transmitted to SIYOU or another company, are not used to train a model, and are discarded after each frame is processed.

What stays on your iPhone

The app stores a local record that you accepted the try-on notice, including the notice identity, date, and a random device-bound identifier. This record is removed if you turn off try-on, is invalid after three years, and is removed with the app's preferences when you delete the app. The separate Keychain identifier cannot restore consent or identify you to SIYOU.

Location eligibility

Before the camera opens, your phone asks Apple's mapping service to resolve your country and state because try-on is not offered everywhere. That request goes to Apple. SIYOU does not receive or store your coordinates or resolved state. If eligibility cannot be confirmed, try-on stays unavailable. Try-on is not offered outside the United States or in Illinois, Texas, or Washington.

Retention and deletion summary

  • Camera frames: not saved, not transmitted, discarded after each frame is processed.
  • Try-on consent record: kept on your iPhone only; removed when you turn off try-on, invalid after three years, and removed with the app's preferences when you delete the app.
  • Location: resolved by Apple's mapping service on your phone; SIYOU receives and stores nothing from that request.
  • Customer try-on use is never used to train a model.

Your choices

Try-on is optional. You can decline the notice, deny camera or location access, or turn off try-on later from Account → Try-on privacy. These choices do not prevent normal browsing or purchasing. Questions may be sent to contact@siyounails.com.
