Volunteer Capture Program: Retention Statement

This statement applies only to adults who separately volunteer to provide hand recordings for development and evaluation of SIYOU Nail Vision. It does not apply to shoppers using Virtual Nail Try-On. Customer camera frames are not added to the volunteer dataset.

What the volunteer program records

• Video of the backs of both hands under the capture conditions described during enrollment. The capture app does not record faces or audio.
• Selected still frames, visible-hand and nail masks, nail keypoints, visibility and occlusion labels, pose labels, and nonidentifying capture-condition attributes.
• A random subject UUID used in the machine-learning tree.
• Identity, contact, consent, withdrawal, and optional marketing records in a separate encrypted vault. Marketing permission is optional and is not a condition of training/evaluation consent.

The program does not use customer try-on frames, third-party training images, or pretrained weights in the shipped model. Alongside volunteer recordings, SIYOU trains on synthetic hand images it renders itself from CC0 assets. Those renders contain no person, are not derived from any volunteer's recording, and are not photographs of anyone. Model weights are trained by SIYOU from random initialization; no pretrained or third-party weights are used.

Storage and access

Capture and label data must remain on two approved encrypted, non-iCloud storage copies. The machine-learning tree contains subject UUIDs and nonidentifying attributes, not volunteer names or contact details. Access is limited to authorized SIYOU operators and reviewers who need it for the stated training, evaluation, quality, withdrawal, or audit purpose.

No collection may begin until both storage copies, the capture device, consent flow, export, reconciliation, withdrawal, and deletion drill have been verified.

Retention and deletion

• Raw video is deleted no later than 90 days after label extraction has been verified.
• After a withdrawal request, active raw and label data is deleted within 30 days and backup copies within 90 days.
• Labeled frames are deleted at the earliest of: withdrawal; three years after capture; or twelve months after the last model that depends on those frames retires.
• Consent and withdrawal evidence is stored separately for the approved audit/records period and is then destroyed under the documented records schedule.

A withdrawal stops future use of that volunteer's raw recordings and labels. A model that was already trained and frozen cannot be selectively "untrained" for one volunteer; the consent flow states that limitation before capture.
